2012 HANA IP LAW FIRM established
In 2012, Hana International Patent and Law Office was converted into HANA IP LAW FIRM with the dream of making a second leap forward. Those who had been supporting Hana International Patent and Law Office all that time and the amazing people who joined at that time came together handle new technology in various fields such as electricity/electronics, semiconductors, software, communications, automobiles, medical devices, aviation, fine chemistry, and biotechnology.

2009 Performed patent information business
Hana International Patent and Law Office conducted prior art searches, patent trend searches, and IP R&D-affiliated projects hosted by the R&D Patent Center under the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the Korea Invention Promotion Association, and the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Association. In particular, we received the highest grade, Grade S, in the national R&D patent trend search project in 2009.

2008 Handled patent affairs of Samsung Electronics
Hana International Patent and Law Office maintained strong relationships with leading Korean companies. In recognition of these capabilities, Hana International Patent and Law Office was offered an advisory contract with Samsung Electronics in 2008 to handle Korean and overseas patent affairs.

2005 Diverse clientele
Hana International Patent and Law Office received cases from a variety of clients such as Dongkuk Steel that is a leading Korean steel company, KISWEL, Bundy Korea, Crucial Tech, Gravity, Gmarket, and NCsoft as well as universities and research institutes. Hana International Patent and Law Office provided services not only in the fields of electronics, machinery, chemistry/biotechnology and trademarks, but also in the expanded field of mobile and finance.

2004 Leading consulting pioneer
In the beginning since its launch, Hana International Patent and Law Office has conducted patent trend searches as a pioneer in the consulting field while other patent offices were concentrating only on filing applications, and has provided patent analysis and IP R&D strategies to give substantial benefits to its clients. Hana International Patent and Law Office has signed advisory contracts with companies in various fields including large companies, mid-sized companies and small and medium-sized companies, and has performed patent, trademark, and design consulting services.

2002 Abundant experience in performing disputes
Hana International Patent and Law Office started building its strength in the field of disputes.
Hana International Patent and Law Office was entrusted by 10 large Korean companies, including Samsung C&T, GS Home Shopping, Hyundai Home Shopping, SK DTOD, and Lotte.com, with the affiliate program “BM patent litigation,” that was a big issue in Korea, where they helped with and eventually won the joint litigation. Afterwards, Hana International Patent and Law Office successfully resolved a number of disputes including a patent dispute about “asparagine” for Hite Jinro’s Chamisul, a patent dispute for “a company credit card” of a credit card company, and a trademark dispute for “Kinopi Gudu”

1999 Hana International Patent and Law Office established
After being joined by Shin, Chang-Jun, who served as the President of the Intellectual Property Tribunal and Appeal Board, Hana International Patent and Law Office was founded in 1999 together with Hana Patent Information Co., Ltd. From the beginning, Hana International Patent and Law Office represented companies such as POSCO, Yonhap Steel Union Steel Co., Ltd., and KIST in patent filing procedures, and was selected by KIST as the office with the most satisfactory business procedures in 2001.
